| What
is BRT?
Body
Restoration Technique (BRT) is a non-invasive method
of locating and removing energy blockages in the body.
Like acupuncture, BRT finds areas that have lost their
ability to communicate properly with the rest of the
body. This lack of communication leads to confusion
and a lack of awareness of what is going wrong in the
body. Our brain's autonomic regulatory system cannot
restore balance because it is not even aware that a
problem is occurring. For repair to occur, the brain
needs to properly communicate with each cell, organ
and gland of the body. The nervous system also needs
to communicate effectively with the endocrine
system.
As
long as there is proper flow of communication within
the body everything works fine. When things go wrong
BRT can detect where these communication or energy blockages
are occurring and restore balance back to the body's
regulatory systems.
How
Does BRT Work?
The
body is basically a living computer. This computer is
really a nested hierarchy of programs, each communicating
with each other. If one subsystem breaks down, the others
compensate but begin to lose optimal communication with
that area of the body. This is how the rest of our body
can go on functioning apparently normally for years
while a cancer slowly grows undetected in another part
of the body. Fortunately the body has a built-in diagnostic
mechanism to assess where these communication problems
or energy blockages are occurring.
We
know from acupuncture that the energy pathways within
the body are linked to specific areas on the surface
of the skin. These body reflex points are very similar
to traditional acupuncture points. Acupuncturists have
known for thousands of years that the body's internal
balance can be affected by stimulation of these areas
with acupuncture or acupressure. BRT taps into our bio-computer
from these points to gain information about our internal
milieu.
Why
Does The Body Get These Communication Breakdowns In
the First Place?
Normally
the body does an incredible job of maintaining balance
and self-repair. However, the body's regulatory mechanisms
can be thrown off or damaged by injury, toxic chemicals, drugs,
microbes, heavy metals, pesticides, artificial
hormones (like hormone replacement therapy or birth
control pills), prolonged pain or stress and even poor eating
habits. All these things can leave confusion and energy
blockages at different locations in the body.
Once
You Find A Problem, How Does BRT Correct It?
BRT
uses the appropriate connection of active body reflexes
along with a gentle tapping along the spine. This tapping
distributes awareness throughout the body by utilizing
the acupuncture "association points" along
both sides of the spine. These points connect to all
the organ and information systems of the body. When
the body regains an appropriate awareness of the problem
it is then able to re-regulate itself. When this happens,
symptoms disappear.
How
Many Visits Does a Person Need To Feel Better?
This
varies from patient to patient. The longer a person
has had a problem the longer the body has had to add
layer upon layer of compensations over it. Some people
will experience rapid improvement while for others it
might seem painstakingly slow as the body methodically
removes each compensation that has built up over the
years. The first visit evaluation will help to give
an estimate of the number of visits needed.
How
Long Will Treatments Last?
Our
goal at Healthy Alternatives is to approach long lasting
relief and resolution within the existing set of deregulation
in the body. This does not mean that miscommunication
and deregulation cannot reoccur from future stressors
as after all we are living beings. Even a healthy person
with no complaints cannot be guaranteed permanent good
health. However, after appropriate treatment our immune,
endocrine and nervous systems will be functioning at
much more optimal levels and will be able to resist
deregulation to a much higher degree.
